The playtest will be open for two weeks and afterwards, we will look through every feedback carefully and make tweaks to our material. The playtest material will be posted here on Kickstarter eventually, but if you can't wait, you best join.
Chapter Two
We are moving along with chapter two. Looking at the general roadmap, we are slightly ahead of time. We of course wanted to get out our playtest first to see if we were moving in the right direction, as chapter two builds upon the momentum set in chapter one.
Backerkit
We are still sitting at 93% of completed BackerKit surveys. Even after you close out our survey you can still make adjustments to your pledge.

Hello everyone,
we hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed the holidays. We wanted to give you the final update for this year.
Chapter One / Playtest
We are nearing the v.1.0 state of chapter one and will soon be ready to have this playtested in small chunks with everyone willing to do so on our discord server. To not spoil the whole chapter for you, we will give out small chunks of the chapter and sometimes even a complete small quest. You will have two weeks to playtest and give us your notes, afterward the first playtest is over and we will go through your feedback. After we have done our tweaks we will open up a second round of playtest, approximately a month after, to see if our material has improved to your liking. If this process proves to work well, we will implement this structure for each chapter of our book.
Chapter Two
We have finished the structure of chapter two and are now working on filling the pages. Chapter Two will be a lot more complex than Chapter One, so we expect we will be working for quite some time on this.
Next steps
After our short holiday break, we will finalize our preparations for our playtest and continue our work on Chapter Two. Feel free to join the Discord to be ready for the playtest samples of Chapter One.

Hello everyone,
it has been another month and as we are nearing the end of the year, we wanted to share what we have been up to.
Chapter One
We have moved from a rough draft to a more polished stage. And we are almost ready for our first big round of in-house playtesting. The biggest challenges so far have been aligning the book's layout and mechanics with the authentic D&D experience and creating a proper in-game character creator. If you have any ideas or something you wouldn't want to miss in our Book, tell us in the comments, or on our Discord.
Chapter two
We've begun work on Chapter Two, laying out its structure and story to further explore the world of Ardentia with new adventures and challenges. While it may take a while to map everything out we are eager to pump out fresh ideas.
Next steps
Our immediate focus is on finalizing Chapter One and receiving the first wave of feedback. When that first wave has been finished we will give a small portion of backers on our Discord the chance to playtest samples of Chapter One, as your feedback is also very important to us!

Hello all,
happy spooky season! It's time for our first end-of-month update.
Timeline
Character Sheet
We are currently finalizing our custom Character Sheet. This sheet will feature a short explanation in the bestiary and you will learn to fill it with more and more information over the course of the adventure.
Work in progress
Custom Background
We have decided to throw in a custom Fairhaven Background, this Background will be unlocked step by step over the different chapters and offer you the ability to shape your character's own personal Background through your actions and choices. Our goal is that at the end of our Story Book, you have a complete official Character ready to level up into any class.
Chapter 1
We have finished the rough work on Chapter 1 and are currently reviewing everything. Changing minor things and implementing some additional ideas we have. Chapter 1 is currently spanning 80 Pages of Story. When we are satisfied with Chapter 1, we will have it play-tested and proofread by experienced veterans and complete beginners alike to find a working middle ground.
If you are interested in playing-testing some of our material when it's ready, come join our Discord and tell us, we will create a private channel and share some work in the future.
BackerKit
Until now, 83% of all Backers have filled out the Survey, thank you! At our current estimations, we will keep the survey open until March 2024, so you can still add to your pledge however much you'd like until then. You will be notified way ahead of time, as when the surveys close, your order is locked.
There will also be the opportunity to change your addresses until the very last moment before shipping, locking the orders does not prevent you from updating your shipping address.

soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.
You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like. You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!
After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.
If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://fairhaven.backerkit.com/faq.
If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact support at https://fairhaven.backerkit.com/faq.
Chapter Boss Update
Our chapter Bosses are supposed to be unique and offer epic and defining battles. To bring this mood across appropriately, these bosses will get unique full-page art and stat blocks in the Beastiary. Please see below an example of the already-known Necromancer.
Please note that the AC and HP have ended up in the wrong places. The values should of course be flipped.
Update frequency + Timeline
In order to keep up the good communication, we have decided to post an update at the end of every month until the completion of the project. This gives us the ability to provide content-packed Updates, without spamming too much, on our discord however we will post smaller, bi-weekly, updates. If we need to inform you about organizational stuff, e.g. BackerKit changes, Delivery changes, or Surveys being locked in, we will update you right away on Kickstarter.
We have finished mapping out our Timeline for this project, this Timeline will be updated and placed in all future updates to give you all a sense of direction and inform you about where we currently are in our process, please be aware that with full-time jobs and real-world responsibilities, the speed of progression may vary from time to time.
Shipping weights
As we previously mentioned, especially for international backers, there is the magical 2kg mark for a package in regard to shipping costs. Please see below the current estimates for the weight of our different items. Shipping costs will be in the following brackets: 0-2kg, 2-5kg, 5-10kg and 10kg and above.
The packaging will of course add some weight to that, but it will definitely be under 100g. For all European pledgers, moving above the 2kg limit, but under the 5kg limit, will "only" add 5€ of additional shipping costs. So international backers can grab some dice without worry, but grabbing an additional copy of our storybook, I'd only recommend it to our European backers.
